Cecille Kotelawala to appear before court on Feb. 23

The Colombo High Court today ordered to produce former Ceylinco Chairman Lalith Kotelawala’s wife Cecille Kotelawala before Court on February 23.


The directive was issued after a motion filed by an attorney was taken into consideration by High Court Judge Manilal Waidyatilaka, Ada Derana reporter said. 


Cecille Kotelawala, who was evading courts, was arrested by immigration officials at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake upon returning to Sri Lanka on February 05.


Deshmanya Deshabandu Jeewaka Lalith Bhupendra Kotelawala is a Sri Lankan businessman, who was also the chairman of Ceylinco Consolidated.


He was remanded for the misappropriation of 26 billion rupees of investments from the failed Golden Key Credit Company. Cecille Kotelawala, who is the sixth accused of the case, had fled to the country and Interpol had issued warrants and red notices for her arrest.
