Yoshitha Rajapaksa, Rohan Weliwita, Nishantha Ranatunga and two others, who were arrested on charges of money laundering, have been further remanded until March 10 by the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court.

A bail application submitted by the attorneys representing the dependents was rejected by the court, when the case was taken up today (25), Ada Derana reporter said.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s second son Yoshitha, a navy lieutenant, was taken into custody by authorities for questioning about dealings at a private television channel, Carlton Sports Network (CSN) on January 30.

The channel’s Chairman Rohan Weliwita, former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nishantha Ranatunga, Ravishan Dissanayake and R.M. Fernando were also arrested following interrogation on the same day.

The revision application for Yoshitha Rajapaksa and four others including Nishantha Ranatunga will be taken into consideration by the Colombo High Court on February 29.
