Dematagoda Chaminda injured in prison bus shooting

An alleged underworld figure known as Dematagoda Chaminda has been injured after an unidentified gunman had opened fire at the prison bus a short while ago on Wednesday (02).


Dematagoda Chaminda and several other prisoners were returning to Welikada prison from the court when the gunman fired at the bus, according to the police.


Dematagoda Chaminda is also an accused in the murder of former President’s Advisor Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra.


The victim has been admitted to the Colombo National hospital. The police are investigating to identify the suspects.
