Welikada shooting: victim succumbs to injuries

An alleged underworld figure Harsha C. Yasas, who was shot this morning in Welikada, succumbed to injuries a short while ago at the Colombo National hospital.


The victim has been identified as a resident of Obesekarapura, Welikada who recently granted bail by a court in Matara, according to police.  


A gunman, who was the pillion rider of a motorcycle, had fled the area soon after shooting Yasas at around 10.00 a.m.


The remains of the deceased are kept at the same hospital pending a post-mortem.
