Pakistani youth arrested with heroin haul at hotel

A Pakistani national has been arrested by the Police Narcotics Bureau for the possession of a large quantity of heroin following a raid carried out at a hotel in the Kollupitiya area.

PNB officers found 07 pellets of heroin in the possession of the suspect who had also swallowed another 12 pellets of heroin.

The 21-year-old youth was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital based on information uncovered that he had swallowed several pellets in order to smuggle the drugs into the country.

Doctors managed to recover the 12 pellets of heroin he had swallowed.

The Police Narcotics Bureau is conducting further investigations into the suspect.
