No bail for Sajin Vass Gunawardena

Former UPFA MP Sajin Vass Gunawardena who was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has been further remanded until July 08, Ada Derana reporter said.


The former MP was arrested in connection with an investigation on a financial fraud case.


The investigation was initiated following a complaint lodged by a Director of a private company with the CID accusing Gunawardena of defrauding him over Rs.600 million, it was reported.


Gunawardena will be produced before Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya again on July 08. The former MP was arrested earlier for allegedly misusing vehicles belonging to the President Secretariat Office as well.
