Trial of Mel Gunasekera murder suspect commences

The trial of the person accused of murdering journalist Mel Gunasekera will commence at the Colombo High Court from September 14, Ada Derana reporter said.
The accused will be cross-questioned when the case is taken up for hearing on September 14, he added.
Senior business journalist, Mel Gunasekera was found dead with injuries caused by a sharp weapon at her residence in Battaramulla on February 02, 2014.
Gunasekera, who specialised in Business Studies from the University of East London, had worked as a Correspondent for the international news agency Agence France-Presse (AFP), covering economic and political affairs in Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
