Disciplinary action to unite a party, not to split it - SB

If a party takes disciplinary action against its members, that is to unite the party, not to split it, Minister S.B. Dissanayake says.

The observation was made while speaking to reporters in Galle this afternoon (04).

“There have been disputes within the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) from the beginning, and that is why Dr. S.A. Wickremesinghe once described it as a ‘front’ not a party,” he added.

He also severely condemned the behavior of the supporters of the Joint Opposition who engaged in a protest march from Kandy to Colombo.

“If former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is not concerned, what others can do about it,” he told reporters while responding to a question.
