Man killed in Kilali explosion

An individual who  had gone to the forest to collect timber has reportedly died in a landmine explosion in Kilali area in Jaffna, the police said.


An investigation to find his whereabouts was launched following a complaint lodged by a member of his family stating that the person had been missing since 12 August, an official said.


The investigation teams have later found his body in an area where demining  process has not yet concluded, the official added.


His remains are kept at the Jaffna hospital pending a post-mortem.
