Ada Derana wins award at Sumathi Awards

Ada Derana won the Best Investigative News Reporting Award at the 21st Sumathi Awards currently being held at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in Colombo.

The award was given for an investigative news report produced by Ada Derana on the murder of Seya Sadewmi.

Wasanthi Nanayakkara received an award for best supplementary TV programme for the Ada Derana programme “Inside Sri Lanka - Bogala Graphite Mine”.

Kavinga Perera took home the award for Most Popular Actor while Ishara Sandamini  was named Most Popular Actress at this year’s Sumathi Awards. 

Chatura Alwis won a special merit award for the “Travel with Chathura” programme.
