National Freedom Front (NFF) spokesman Muhammad Muzammil has slammed the Government over its failure to fulfill the vows that it had made during the elections.

The observation was made while speaking to reporters in Colombo this afternoon (29).

“The government yesterday announced that a Volkswagen car plant would not be established in Sri Lanka. But it was one of a key election vow they had given during the election,” he added.

The proposed project to set up a Volkswagen car plant in Sri Lanka has temporarily been halted, Deputy Minister Eran Wickramaratne said earlier. He went on to say that the project has been temporarily halted due to several issues that the company had to face “in international level.”
