Missing businessman found, arrested in Haldummulla

A businessman from Bandaragama who was reported missing after visiting Trincomalee for a gold auction at a state bank has been arrested while in hiding in the Haldummulla area.

Mohamed Nasrin, 35, had travelled to Trincomalee from Atulugama in Bandaragama with four others and was reported missing on Monday (September 05).

The businessman’s father had lodged a complaint with police claiming that his son had disappeared. 

The complaint also states that Nasrin, who had stayed at a hotel in Kanthale last Sunday before leaving for the auction, was in the possession of around Rs 10 million in cash.

However, the businessman was taken into custody this morning while in hiding in the Haldummulla area.
