Police emergency call services in Tamil language in North?

An emergency call services has been introduced in Tamil language for the people in the North to be able to submit their problems in their language, Inspector General of Police Pujith Jayasundara has said.


This was announced while he was speaking at an event held at the DIG’s office of Vavuniya, Ada Derana reporter said.


The IGP also stated that the language is a key factor to improve the reconciliation and cooperation among the communities. He also stated that the police will be organized to suit the needs of the country to provide the maximum service to the people.


Wanni Citizens’ Committee Chairman S. Sivagnanam who also participated in the event said that with the new method, Tamil people would get more opportunity than before to lodge their complaints with the police and get their concerns addressed.
