The Avissawella High Court has granted bail to two army intelligence officers who were remanded over the disappearance case of journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda.

The suspects were granted bail following a bail application filed at the Avissawella High Court, Ada Derana reporter said. They were enlarged on a cash bail of Rs.1.5 million and three personal bails of Rs.3 million rupees.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) had earlier arrested an Army Corporal, a Sergeant, and two Lieutenants, in connection with the mysterious disappearance of the journalist.

The suspects were arrested following interrogation at the Police HQ for over five hours in August 2015. At present, a Habeas Corpus case also continues at the Homagama Magistrate’s Court over the incident.
