Yet another ‘immature’ attempt to discredit me - Gotabaya

Former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa Thursday severely condemned the allegation as ‘baseless’, leveled against him by the Foreign Minister that his son had lived in a house in America depending on funds from the former government.

“I severely condemn the statement by the Foreign Minister that my son had lived in a house in America depending on funds from the former government. This is yet another ‘immature’ attempt to discredit me,” Rajapaksa said in a Facebook status.

Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera yesterday at the Parliament charged a house had been rented in Los Angeles in 2013 for Rajapaksa’s son and alleged that state funds were misused to maintain it.
