Man remanded for threatening President on FB

A 26-year-old man who was arrested for allegedly issuing death threats to the President on the Facebook has been remanded, Ada Derana reporter said.


The suspect was remanded after being produced before the Colombo Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.


The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has apprised the court that the individual should be remanded since its investigation against him has not yet been concluded.


The suspect will be produced before the court again on 15 December.
