If someone eyes to become a ‘super minister’ through the Development (Special Provisions) Act that would be none other than Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, the Lanka Sama Samaja Party asserts.

Its leader Prof. Tissa Vitharana made the observation while speaking at a press conference held in Colombo on Monday.

“There is a move to acquire President’s powers through the Act, since he cannot become the President,” he said while adding, “this is not a ‘Yahapalanaya’ government. This is a ‘Wahapalanaya’ government.”

He also pointed out though there are members of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) in the present government, only polices of the United National Party (UNP) are implemented. “It is the nature, the polices of the UNP are harmful to the country,” he said.
