Sarath Kumara Gunaratne released on bail

Former Deputy Minister Sarath Kumara Gunarathna has been granted bail, the Ada Derana reporter confirmed. 

‍Colombo Chief Magistrate Lal Ranasinghe Bandara ordered the former deputy minister of fisheries released on a cash bail of Rs 25,000 and two personal bails of Rs 1 million each, when the case was taken up today (20). 

He was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) after a statement was recorded from him on January 2 regarding alleged misappropriation of funds of the Negombo lagoon development project.
