Delimitation committee chairman has become an actor - Faiszer

Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government Faiszer Mustapha says that the Chairman appointed by him to the Delimitation Appeals Committee has ultimately ended up becoming an “actor”.
He said that the committee’s chairman had first submitted a report comprising the signatures of just three the members.
“It’s a good thing that I did not accept it at that moment because the Attorney General said that all five members need to sign the report or else it is not legal,” he said, speaking during an event today (1).
Mustapha stated that instructed the Secretary of his ministry to check the report before it is handed over and that he had notified the chairman in a letter to come and correct certain technical shortcomings in the report.
“As of today I have still not received a response to that letter,” he said.
However, the minister said that he has also informed the Supreme Court that the report will most likely be gazetted in a week.
Musthapha said he will do the right thing even though a little late instead of doing the wrong thing in a hurry.
