Navy officer injured during Independence Day rehearsals

A Sri Lanka Navy officer has reportedly been injured and hospitalized due to an accident during the Independence Day rehearsals at the Galle Face Green in Colombo this morning (3). 

The incident had occurred while navy personnel were rehearsing parachute drops from a helicopter, Ada Derana reporter said. 

The navy officer, who reportedly sustained severe injuries to his legs in the incident, has been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital and is receiving treatment in the ICU.
