May 8, 2017   03:19 pm

The evidence room of the Puttalam District Court has reportedly been broken into, Puttalam police say.

Preliminary investigations reveal that the perpetrators had entered the evidence room by removing the roof tiles of the building.

The stolen items have not yet been determined.

Our reporters stated that all external personnel have been banned from entering the district court premises on account of the ongoing investigations into the incident.

The evidence room reportedly holds court documents of both the Puttalam District Court and Magistrate’s Court.

The Puttalam police are conducting further investigations.
