Shortage of doctors in the future - Ratnayaka

June 28, 2017   03:23 pm

The Cabinet Minister of Law and Order & Southern Development, Sagala Ratnayaka stated certain individuals who are not able to act in a democratic manner have caused tension to arise within the youth of the country, jeopardizing their education,  while promoting violence.

The statements were made at a media briefing held at the Sirikotha today (28).

He further added that the protests that were carried out in front of the Health Ministry, which further lead to the destruction of property, did not require student participation, and that certain politicians had been behind the supposed attacks- fuelling a burning fire.

Ratnayaka went onto say that these students would have had to miss out on a year worth of education, causing a shortage of the number of qualified doctors present in the country in the future.

Replying to question raised by a journalist, Ratnayaka stated that the officials responsible for the unclean environment around Police stations have already been questioned, and actions are being taken to clean the area.
