19 hour water cut in parts of Colombo

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board announced a 19 hour water cut from 11.00pm on Friday (21) to 6.00pm on Saturday to several parts of Colombo.

The water board said that the supply to Kotahena, Mattakkuliya, Grandpass, Thotalaga, Jayantha Weerasekaar Mawatha and Maligawatta Flats will be suspended during the aforementioned time period. 

This is due to urgent repairs being carried out on the main supply line from Ambatale to Elihouse, it said.  

Meanwhile an 8 hour water cut will be imposed from 9.00pm today (20) to 5.00am tomorrow in several areas including Dehiwala, Mount Lavinia, Nugegoda and parts of Colombo South.

The following areas will be affected by the water cut:

Dehiwala, Mount Lavinia, Ratmalana, Soysapura, Attidiya, Kaduwana, Pepiliyana, Bellantota, Nedimala, Kalubowila, Nugegoda and Kohuwala.

The water supply to Wellawatta, Pamankada and other parts of Colombo South will also be suspended due to urgent repairs.
