Three arrested following raid of alcohol distillation plant in Marawila

Three individuals have been arrested following a raid of an illegal large-scale alcohol distillation plant in Mudukatuwa, Marawila.

The raid had been conducted by Marawila Police after the receipt of an intelligence tip-off.

34 barrels used for the storage of alcohol and a number of distillation equipment have been taken into Police custody.

The suspects, found to be residents of Mahawewa and Katuneriya, are due to be produced before the Marawila Magistrate’s Court tomorrow (28).
