New Foreign Minister to be appointed in two days

Acting State Minister of Foreign Affairs Vasantha Senanayake stated that the seat of Foreign Minister will be filled within the coming 02 days. He also stated that the new Secretary to the Ministry will also assume duties on August 15, 2017. 

Speaking to the media upon his return to the country after the BIMSTEC summit in Nepal, the Acting Foreign Minister clearly expressed the timeline in which a new Foreign Minister will be appointed. 

Meanwhile former Foreign Minister Ravi Karunanayake met with the chief prelates of the Asgiriya temple.
