A/L paper leaked: tuition master’s father and brother arrested

Police state that the father and brother of the tuition master who distributed leaflets containing questions from the G. C. E. Advanced Level Chemistry examination paper have been arrested.

The whereabouts of the tuition master from Gampaha are yet to be found.

The tuition master concerned was found to have distributed leaflets containing questions from the 2nd part of this year’s G. C. E. Advanced Level Chemistry paper in front of an Examination Center, leading to the launch of an investigation into the matter.

Candidates sat for the aforementioned Chemistry paper on August 19.

Commissioner-General of Examinations, M. N. J. Pushpakumara stated that he had requested, by means of a written appeal, that the Police open an investigation into the incident.

He further stated that the act committed by the tuition master was against the law, and added that an official statement would be issued after the conclusion of the Police investigation.

As a result of the investigation, the family members of the tuition master concerned were arrested in Kandana today (21).
