Two children lost at sea rescued

Two children who were swept away by high tides were rescued by Police officers attached to the Uppaweli Police station who were on life saving duty along with the coast guard on Nilaweli beach earlier on today (29). 

It has been reported that the two children aged 14 and 17, had ventured into the rough sea before strong currents carried both of them away from the coastline. 

Reports confirm that the two children were on holiday at a nearby resort at in close proximity to the Nilaweli beach.
