Kukuleganga spill gate opened; those downstream advised to be cautious

One of the spill gates at Kukuleganga has been opened owing to the heavy rain.

Subsequently, those residing downstream at Agalawatta, Walallawita, Palindanuwara, Ingiriya and Baduraliya are advised to be cautious.

Meanwhile, the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) has also issued landslide warnings to the following regions:

  • Ehaliyagoda Divisional Secretariat division: Karadana, Kalatuwawa-West, Makota, Deiyagala, Wilegoda, Bopaththa, Athgangula, Mahahara, Thalavitiya, Arapola
  • Ayagama Divisional Secretariat division: Namunuthenna, Gangodakanda, Sinhalagoda, Galathura, Avichchikanda, Gavaragiriya, Dumbaramanana, Udugala, Kolambewa, Umangedara
  • Kotapola
  • Pitabeddara
