Building collapses in Ahangama: five injured

Five individuals were injured after a five-storey building collapsed in Kathaluwa,Ahangama ,a short while ago.

The injured have been admitted to the Karapitiya Hospital,the Police said.

Rescue missions are underway in search of another missing individual buried under the debris.

The individual, who was buried under the debris, has been rescued a short while ago.

The individual has been rescued using backhoe machines through a joint mission carried out by Ahangama Police, Army and the Fire Brigade.

Immediate steps had been taken to hospitalize the victim to Karapitiya hospital, the Police said.

Investigations are being carried out by Ahangama Police into the collapse of the five-storey building which has been put-up to build a tourist Hotel.
