Kelaniya University closed until further notice

October 5, 2017   11:13 am

The Kelaniya University will be temporarily closed today (05) until further notice.

The decision had been made by the University Administration following a clash which occurred between two student groups.

Eight students were hospitalized following the clash which took place between the two student groups earlier today.

Discussions held between the two groups to resolve the conflict has not been a success, according to University sources.

Therefore a decision had been made by the University administration to suspend students’ activities in order avoid further damage to lives and properties.

Accordingly all students have been informed to leave University premises before noon today (5).

However the closure exempts the Kelaniya Medical faculty.
