Two girls reported missing surrender to police; One still missing

UPDATE: (12.49pm) - The 14-year-old girl of the three teenagers who went missing from Kolonnawa has also surrendered to police, a short while ago. 

She had surrendered to Gampaha Police with a female she had stayed with, police said.



The 19-year-old female and 15-year-old girl who went missing from Kolonnawa on Saturday (October 14), have surrendered to Police a short while ago, according to the Police Media spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekara.

The 14-year-old girl, who had also disapeared with them, is still missing and investigations are being carried out by Wellampitiya Police in search of her, he said.

The Police commenced investigations into the disappearance of a young mother and two teenage girls who are residents of Kolonnawa, on October 17.

The three missing persons were  identified as 19-year old Malithi Wathsala who is the mother of an infant, 15-year old Yasanthi Madushani the sister-in-law of Malithi and a 14-year-old from their neighborhood named Charithri Chandrasekaram also known as Sweta.  
 
The three females departed from their apartment in Salamulla on Saturday (14), to visit Malithi’s father at his residence in Orugodawatte. Following their arrival they had left the residence to buy clothes from a nearby boutique and not returned. 

The families of the missing females arrived at the Wellampitiya Police station on October 16, to lodge a formal missing persons report.
