Two STF SIs dead, woman critical after train hits car

Two Sub-Inspectors (SIs) of the Police Special Task Force (STF) were killed while a woman was critically injured after a train collided with a car at a railway crossing at Andagala in the Ambalangoda Police Division, a short while ago. 

The Police Spokesman’s Office said that the injured person, the wife of one of the deceased, has been admitted to the Ambalangoda Hospital and is in critical condition. 

A train traveling from Matara to Maradana had hit the vehicle carrying three persons at the crossing at around 4.30pm today (30). 

The incident had occurred while the passengers of the car were returning home after attending a wedding ceremony.
