Acceptance of nominations for 248 LG institutions commences

The acceptance of nominations for 248 Local Government institutions, under the second stage will commence on December 18.

Nominations will be accepted from 8.30 am until 4.30 pm and the acceptance of nomination will conclude on December 21, the Election Commission announced.

The acceptance of nominations for 93 local government bodies came to an end at 12 noon December 14.

Accepting nominations for those LG institutions commenced on December 11.

Nominations will be accepted in all District Secretariats, under the second stage.
 
Additional Elections Commissioner M.M. Mohammed said that instructions have been given to put in place special security arrangements at the District Secretariats accepting nominations.

The date of the election will be announced after the acceptance of nominations, the Election Commissioner said.

Meanwhile the Commission requests all parties to follow necessary precautions to avoid the rejection of nominations.
