Vavuniya Campus temporarily closed

The Vavuniya Campus affiliated to Jaffna University had been closed from yesterday (15) due to an ongoing reconstruction, Rector of Vanuya Campus Dr. T. Mangaleswaran said.

The faculties of the University of Jaffna, which were recently closed as a result of the class boycott carried out by students over Tamil political prisoners, were reopened on November 13.

Academic activities at t Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Science and Faculty of Management Studies of the University of Jaffna were suspended indefinitely by the administration on October 30, after students decided to boycott classes in protest demanding the release of Tamil political prisoners.   

The reconstruction activities of a number of buildings including student hostels of Vavuniya Campus will conclude by January 2 as the examinations of Vavuniya campus are scheduled to commence on January 02 ,the university administration announced.
