Co-cabinet spokesman Dr Rajitha Senaratne says that a Cabinet reshuffle is expected to take place on Monday, based on the decision of the no-confidence motion.

Speaking at the weekly Cabinet press briefing in Colombo today (4), he said that the no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister is a turning point of the government.

He stated that the no-confidence motion will only further strengthen the government and that it will be used as the basis for addressing the shortcomings in the government.

Senaratne stated that the United National Party as well as the Government must undergo change.

Co-cabinet spokesman Minister Gayantha Karunathilaka, who also attended the press briefing, stated that they will be able to defeat the no-confidence motion and achieve a special victory.

He stated that by tomorrow everyone will be able to see the existence of a stable government with the Prime Minister.

The minister stated that the UNP Working Committee has informed the party’s MPs about discussions on party reforms to take place on April 7 and 8.
