Bus topples in Southern Expressway injuring 18

18 persons were injured after a bus toppled on the Southern Expressway near Pinnaduwa exit, according to police.

The Kataragama bound private bus has toppled due to a flat tyre at around 7.30 am today (28), it is reported.

The victims have been rushed to Karapitiya Teaching Hospital and the conditions of the victims are not severe, hospital sources claimed.

They were identified as residents of Meegahathenna area who were on a pilgrimage to Kataragama.

Further investigations into the incident are being carried out by Akmeemana Police.
