Ariya B. Rekawa appointed Uva Province Governor

President’s Counsel Ariya Bandara Rekawa has been sworn in as the Governor of the Uva Province, a short while ago. 

He was sworn in before President Maithripala Sirisena at the President’s Official Residence, in the presence of President’s Secretary Austin Fernando.

Attorney-at-Law Ariya Bandara Rekawa is a former UNP Parliamentarian and former Sri Lankan Ambassador to the Philippines. 

Former Uva Province Governor P.B. Dissanayaka was appointed as the Central Province Governor on April 13, however he had continued to serve as Acting Uva Governor temporarily.
