Karandeniya PS deputy chairman shot dead by gunmen

Deputy Chairman of the Karandeniya Pradeshiya Sabha Donald Sampath (SLPP) has been shot dead at Korakena in Uragasmanhandiya, Police Spokesman said.
The Deputy Chairman had been shot by 2 gunmen on a motorcycle while he was travelling in a cab, according to the Police.
The body is placed at the Borakanda hospital mortuary, and the Uragasmanhandiya Police are conducting further investigations on the matter.
Another person injured in the shooting is currently receiving treatment at the same hospital.
