Former Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa says that he expects a fair investigation into the case of abduction and assault of journalist Keith Noyahr.

He mentioned this responding to questions of media following an event held in Colombo, yesterday (25).

He was also queried on the investigations regarding an arrested Indian national’s revelations of an alleged plot to assassinate the President, former President and his family.

He responded stating that there are skilled officials in the Criminal Investigation Department who also worked with him when he was the Defense Secretary and if they are still operating in the same manner, the investigations will be done properly.

It is a huge issue if there is a conspiracy to kill the first person of the country, says Rajapaksa.

Answering questions on the Presidential candidacy, he stated that the expectation of the public is former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and not him.
