Armed gang forcible enters home, abduct 17-year-old girl

An armed group of people have abducted a 17 year old girl in Walewatta, Ambalanthota, after forcibly entering her home early this morning (02).

Ambalanthota police has commenced an investigation regarding this incident on a complaint lodged by the girl’s parents.

A group of 6, armed with weapons and firearms, has assaulted the father and the sister of the 17 year old girl had abducted her. The perpetrators had broken down the front door of the house and the door to the room where the girl had been sleeping. Reportedly, they had also shot at the room door.

Father of the girl stated that this incident occurred at around 2.30 am and a person had threatened him with a pistol to his head when he had come out of his room to check on the sound of the gunshot.

The thugs had threatened the elder daughter by holding a knife at her neck before fleeing with the younger daughter.

Amabalanthota police says no suspect has been arrested with regard to the incident and that they have commenced investigation into this.
