Thirty-six including females arrested in clashes at Facebook party

Thirty-six individuals including 12 females have been apprehended in Ratnapura, over a clash that had occurred during a party organized via Facebook.

The police said that a clash had broken out with the residents of the area during the party, which was held at a hotel in Durekanda, Ratnapura.

Reportedly, two of the arrested suspects had been in possession of 530 g of crystal methamphetamine (commonly known as ‘ICE’) and 04 g of Cannabis and 04 dangerous narcotic pills.

The police have released the suspects on bail following the confirmation of their identities, except for the two arrested while in possession of drugs.

These two youths, aged 24 and 26 years, are revealed to be residents from Wattala and Kalutara, respectively.

They are to be produced before the Ratnapura Magistrate’s Court today (15) and the Ratnapura Police is conducting further investigations regarding the incident.
