Chinese construction worker found dead

A Chinese worker involved in construction of Southern Expressway has been found dead in his workers’ hostel, stated Weeraketiya Police.

The deceased Chinese national has been a worker at a construction site of the Southern Expressway near Bedigama-Weeraketiya.

The 43-year old worker had gone to sleep, last night (15), in his quarters at the workers’ hostel belonging to the construction site.

However, when his colleagues had checked on him when he didn’t report to work today (16), he had been found dead on his bed. The workers had then proceeded to inform the Weeraketiya Police regarding this.

Weeraketiya Police is conducting further investigations on the death.
