Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) says that they expect the Prime Minister will suspend the implementation of Sri Lanka-Singapore Free Trade Agreement.

Joining press conference held in Colombo today (01), Secretary of the association Dr Haritha Aluthge stated that the Joint Opposition had revealed numerous facts related to the disadvantageous clauses of the Sri Lanka-Singapore FTA.

He said that they request the new government to halt the implementation of Sri Lanka-Singapore FTA until a new trade policy is introduced and a process that is suitable for the country is identified.

The GMOA intends to submit a letter to PM Mahinda Rajapaksa in this regard, Dr Aluthge stated further.
