Two notorious drug dealers busted; over Rs 7m worth heroin, luxury vehicles seized

A 32-year-old suspect has been arrested along with 75 grams and 130 milligrams of heroin valued at around Rs 1 million at Angulana.
The suspect was nabbed following a raid carried last evening by officers of the Walana anti-vice squad, based on information received, at a house located on Podujana Mawatha, Angulana.
The arrested suspect has been identified as Wanni Arachchi Dinesh Perera alias ‘Sana’.
Four luxury vehicles found at the suspect’s house was also taken into custody by the police.
The suspect is to be produced at the Moratuwa Magistrate’s Court today (08) while Angulana Police is conducting further investigations.
Meanwhile in a separate operation police arrested a suspect with over 500 grams of heroin in the Maligawatta area in Colombo.
Police said the stock of drugs seized is estimated to be worth over Rs 6 million.
The drugs were found hidden inside a house near the Kettarama cricket ground in Maligawatta, following a raid carried out by the Maligawatta division anti-vice unit at around 8.00 p.m. last night.
The suspect was arrested as he attempted to escape through the backdoor of the house during the police raid.
Police said that the arrested suspect had been found guilty in connection a murder committed in the Athurugiriya police division in 2004.
During interrogation, the suspect had revealed that he had obtained the drugs from an individual by the alias of “Maligawatte Seeni Baba” who has been sentenced to life in prison.
