The parliamentary session commenced a short while ago presided by Speaker of the Parliament Karu Jayasuriya.
 
The government party parliamentarians have boycotted the parliamentary session for the third consecutive time.

The motion to suspend the expenditures of the Prime Minister was presented to the parliament by MP Ravi Karunanayake while it was seconded by UNP MP Navin Dissanayake.

Ven. Athuraliye Rathana Thero is observed to be seated in the Opposition bench at the parliamentary session today (29).
