Nine youths arrested with ‘Ice’ and Kush at party in Boralesgamuwa

Nine suspects including 3 females have been arrested for the possession of narcotics such as ‘Ice’ and Kush cannabis following a raid carried out by police during a party at a residence in Boralesgamuwa.

Police said that 45mg of Kush cannabis, 5mg of Ice (crystal methamphetamine), 63 foreign cigarettes and equipment used to consume the drugs were taken into custody.

The arrests were made following a search carried out at a house located at Abeyratne Mawatha in Boralesgamuwa based on a complaint received by the police emergency hotline service this morning (13).

A neighbor had complained to 119 that loud music and sounds have been playing at the house since last night and police officers arrived at the residence this morning as the party was still ongoing.

Nine youths including 3 females, between the ages 20-25, were inside the house while police carried out a search of the place due to their suspicious behavior.

The drugs were found during this search while other narcotics such as certain pills were also discovered, police said.

The arrested suspects are residents of Dehiwala, Thalangama, Anuradhapura, Katunayake, Moratuwa and Negombo.

Boralesgamuwa Police is conducting further investigations while the suspects are to be produced before the Gangodawila Magistrate’s court later today (13).
