NTJ Colombo District organizer granted bail

The Colombo District leader of National Thowheed Jama’ath Mohamed Fawaz has been granted bail by the Colombo Chief Magistrate, says Ada Derana correspondent.

The bail order was delivered by the Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne today (15) after taking into consideration a letter submitted by the Attorney General.

In his letter, the Attorney General has stated that considering the facts revealed by the investigations, he has no objections with regard to granting bail to the suspect.

Accordingly, the suspect was released on bail under 2 personal bails of Rs 500,000 and the chief magistrate imposed a ban on the suspect’s overseas travels.

The case will be taken up again on the 24th of September.

The Keselwatte Police had arrested Mohamed Fawaz along with mobile video footages recorded by him at the sites of explosions on after the attacks took place on Easter Sunday.
