Fuel prices slashed

The government has decided to reduce the price of fuel according to the fuel pricing formula, stated the Ministry of Finance.

The new fuel prices will be in effect from midnight today (10).

Accordingly, the prices of Petrol (95 Octane) and Super Diesel will be reduced by Rs 2 per liter while Petrol (92 Octane) will be reduced by Rs 1 per liter.

However, the price of Auto Diesel will remain unchanged, stated the Finance Ministry.


Correction: It was initially announced that Petrol (92 Octane) would also be reduced by Rs. 2 per liter, however the Ministry of Finance later issued a correction stating that Petrol (92 Octane) would only be reduced by Rs. 1 per liter.
