Infant at Badulla Hospital tests negative for coronavirus

The seven-month-old infant, who was admitted to the Badulla Hospital on suspicion of contracting the new coronavirus, has tested negative for Covid-19.

Deputy Director of the hospital Dr. Ranjith Amarakoon stated that the tests performed have confirmed that the infant has not contracted the virus and that the infant was discharged from the hospital this afternoon (6). 

A seven-month-old infant was admitted to the Badulla Hospital on March 03 on suspicion of contracting the virus after showing certain symptoms similar to that of Covid-19.

Accordingly multiple tests were carried out at the hospital to determine as to whether the infant had contracted the new coronavirus and the tests result reports received this morning confirmed that the infant tested negative, he said.
