Another group of 100 persons who were directed to quarantine upon arriving on the island from foreign countries have been sent home today (01).
These individuals were quarantined for two weeks at the centres set up in Diyatalawa, Damminna and Punani, the Army said.
Accordingly, a total of 2,121 who were directed to the quarantine process at the facilities maintained by the security forces have left for homes so far.
However, more than 1,500 are still being quarantined at the rest of the 32 facilities.
Army Chief Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva yesterday mentioned that 16 quarantine centres have now been emptied with the departure of quarantined persons.
